A 27-year-old man wanted for a violent knife fight has been placed in custody for three months after a routine intervention in Otwock escalated into a physical assault on police officers.
Routine Call Escalates into Violent Confrontation
What began as a standard call to remove an individual from a private residence in Otwock in late May quickly turned volatile. Patrol officers arrived on the scene to find a man who refused to identify himself or cooperate with their requests.
The suspect’s refusal to provide documentation soon shifted into open aggression. He attacked the responding officers, tearing at them, hurling insults, and issuing criminal threats, eventually damaging a patrol vehicle while being forcibly removed from the premises.
Criminal Record and Drug Possession Revealed
The suspect’s desperate attempt to remain anonymous was motivated by an active warrant. Once identified, police confirmed he was sought for his involvement in a previous dangerous brawl involving a knife.
A search conducted during the arrest further complicated the man’s legal situation, as officers discovered he was in possession of amphetamines. This added drug charges to his mounting list of criminal offenses.
Prosecution and Detention
The 27-year-old now faces multiple charges, including participation in a brawl with a dangerous weapon, possession of narcotics, physical assault on police officers, criminal threats, and property destruction. He admitted to some of these acts during questioning.
The Otwock District Prosecutor’s Office successfully argued for his detention, citing the suspect’s extensive criminal history and the fact that he committed these new offenses as a repeat offender. The local court upheld the request, ordering a three-month remand period.
