Three Killed in Fatal Car Fire Near Gubin

Three people died on Monday, June 8, after their vehicle struck a tree and ignited in a forest near the town of Markosice in the Gubin municipality.

Fatal Incident in Gubin

Emergency services received reports of a burning vehicle and forest fire on Monday, June 8, at 13:42. Five fire units were deployed, arriving at the scene within 10 minutes.

Firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze, which had spread to approximately three ares of the surrounding forest. Upon inspecting the wreckage, they discovered three charred bodies.

Investigation Underway

Lubuskie State Fire Service spokesperson Arkadiusz Kaniak stated that due to the severity of the damage, it is currently impossible to identify the age or gender of the victims.

Police from Krosno Odrzańskie are investigating the circumstances of the crash and working to identify the victims under the supervision of a prosecutor.

Traffic Disruptions

The accident caused significant traffic delays on the route toward Markosice, resulting in a full road closure. Authorities have established detours through the villages of Grabice, Nowa Wioska, and Brzozów.
