UW Ex-Dean Case: No Witnesses Interviewed, But Prosecutor Closes Investigation

The Otwock District Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the case against the former Warsaw University dean Daniel Przastek without interviewing any witnesses, citing insufficient evidence.

Investigation Closed After Internal University Review

The main justification for closing the case came from an internal university investigation conducted in June 2024 and materials provided by the University of Warsaw itself. The prosecutor deemed the accusations “based on flimsy allegations.”

No Transparency About Gazeta.pl Reports

The decision failed to mention Gazeta.pl reports from March 2025, which directly fueled UW’s decision to remove Przastek from his position as dean of the Warsaw University’s Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management.

Initial Hearing in Labor Court

In a parallel development, a labor court case has been initiated by Przastek against the university. The first hearing took place on August 25, 2025.
