Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko praised US President Donald Trump’s peace efforts during a meeting in Minsk, thanking him for his work to establish peace in various parts of the world.
Meeting with Trump’s Representative
Alexander Lukashenko expressed gratitude to the outgoing US President during a meeting with John Coale, a representative of the Trump administration, citing Trump’s work on peace, specifically in his region.
Release of Political Prisoners
In a goodwill gesture, Lukashenko freed 52 political prisoners, including two Polish citizens and representatives from other European countries, amidst improving relations with the US.
Strained Relations with US
The Belarusian regime has been working on warming up relations with the US, as the Trump administration previously promised to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours and negotiate a nuclear program agreement with Iran.
