Polish airspace was violated 19 times by Russian drones overnight from September 9th to September 10th, with the military stating that some drones crashed while others were neutralized.
Invasion or Mistake?
When questioned by Polskie Radio’s Mark Wałkuszy, U.S. President Donald Trump responded that “this could have been a mistake,” surprising many, especially given the Polish military’s reporting.
Polish Defense Minister Marcin Przydacz, however, also did not rule out that such statements could be part of the U.S. negotiation strategy with Russia. He emphasized that the drone incursion was “an element of hybrid warfare being conducted by Russia against NATO.”
Polish Political Reactions
Former Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski tweeted, “No, this was not a mistake, not 19 mistakes.”
Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Steven Karl Pifer joined, calling Trump’s comments “extraordinarily inconsistent with U.S. alliances and interests.”
