Polish and NATO Jets’ Operations Over Poland Grounded After Alerts

The Polish and NATO military air operations in Polish airspace have been terminated, according to the Operational Command of the Armed Forces. Radar systems for air defense and radio-technical reconnaissance have returned to routine operational activity.

Alert RCB Cancelled

The operation of Polish and allied aircraft in Polish airspace has been completed – reports the Operational Command of the Armed Forces.

Normal Situation Restored

Tensions have eased as Vice-Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk confirmed the situation had returned to normal. He added that the information from the command was immediately transmitted to the Government Security Center. “We thank allies for joint operation monitoring and overseeing the Polish sky” – Tomczyk added in social media posts.

Military Jets Deployed

Fighter jets were scrambled following drone attacks in regions of Ukraine bordering Poland. The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency noted that “Lublin Airport has resumed air operations following the termination of military aviation activities.”

Unconfirmed Breach

Having received unverified information about potential airspace violation, the Operational Command of the Armed Forces initiated precautionary measures. “As of now, it looks like there’s an RCB alert, preemptively notifying residents of certain districts (…). We have unconfirmed information about potential airspace violation, which we are currently verifying. I cannot confirm this at the moment as we verify the information. It might also be meteorological anomaly and faulty radar system recording,” said Colonel Jacek Goryszewski in a TVN 24 interview.
