A 48-year-old Polish woman fell to her death from a height of 100 meters in the Slovak Tatras while hiking with her partner, who was later rescued. Her body was recovered after a search operation.
RescueOperation Initiated
Ratners from the Slovak Horská Záchranná Služba (Mountain Rescue Service) began a rescue operation after receiving a report of two lost Slovaks aged 21 and 41 who lost their way in misty rain.
Complex Mountain Rescue
When the rescue team arrived, they discovered that help was also needed by a couple from Poland, including the woman who had fallen from a significant height. The rescue operation was complicated by adverse weather conditions.
Recovery and Investigation
After favorable weather conditions returned, the Polish man was found alive but his female partner was sadly confirmed dead before her body could be recovered. Search operations recommenced with the use of a drone equipped with thermal imaging, covering the terrain extensively.
