Polish Government Criticizes Leak of Trump’s Letter to President Nawrocki

The Polish government has expressed discontent over the leak of a letter from US President Donald Trump to Polish President Karol Nawrocki, which was revealed before reaching the presidential office.

Background on the Letter

According to Paweł Żuchowski, a correspondent for RMF FM in the United States, the White House sent the letter to the Polish embassy in Washington on September 17.

The letter, intended for President Karol Nawrocki, had not yet reached the Presidential Office at the time of the leak.

Criticism from the Polish Government

Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Office at the Presidential Office, criticized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the leak, stating it reflects poorly on the ministry.

Przydacz also mentioned that the letter’s content may concern sanctions and tariffs that Trump expects from European countries regarding Russia.

PiS Reaction and Previous Communication

Eurodeputy Adam Bielan of PiS described the leak as a “very ugly move” by the Polish embassy in Washington, which currently lacks an ambassador.

On September 3, Karol Nawrocki met with Donald Trump in Washington, with Trump describing Polish-US relations as “very special.”

The two leaders also had a phone conversation on September 10, following a violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones.
