Scandal in the Sejm – Suspended KO MP Declares He Will Not Be Made a Scapegoat

Marcin Józefaciuk confirms his two‑month suspension from the Civic Coalition parliamentary club, arguing that the decision to allow a convicted sexual offender to attend a parliamentary committee meeting on child protection during parental separation was a procedural error that he was unaware of.

Marcin Józefaciuk: I Will Not Be Made a Scapegoat

“Yes, I submitted an amendment unapproved by the club to stop the employment of unqualified teachers in kindergartens because I fight for children’s welfare. I criticized the Ministry of Education; I will continue to challenge the blocking of funding for homeschooling, the lack of reforms in vocational education, the restriction of adult education, and the fact that the plan to eliminate ‘dark hours’—which I had sent to the club almost a year ago—was not processed, among many other issues. As a teacher, I will not sit quietly.” I added that I voted contrary to the club’s discipline on the suspension of my alienation rights, stating, “it is contrary to international law, and the border it concerns is 98 % sealed, as the minister himself confirmed.” I insisted that I will take responsibility for these matters, but I refuse to be made a scapegoat or to bear full blame for the presence of an individual who was unaware of my involvement. The person was present in accordance with parliamentary procedures (though contrary to my moral stance). I provided the club with complete information about this case, but it was ignored.”

Suspension of KO MP

Marcin Józefaciuk previously informed that an organization had reported a person who turned out to have a final conviction and had served prison time. “I was misled about the extent of that person’s misconduct. The access office has no authority to block individuals who have served their sentence and exercise full civil rights.” The head of the Civic Coalition parliamentary club, Zbigniew Konwiński, announced on Saturday, August 9, that the MP had been suspended from membership for two months, a decision taken the previous day. The reason cited was his public criticism of the government’s education policies and the admission of a convicted offender to the committee meeting.

Pedophile in Parliamentary Committee Meeting

On Monday, August 4, the Parliamentary Committee on Child Protection in the Process of Parental Separation met. The committee was chaired by Marcin Józefaciuk. The session included a person convicted of sexual offenses against his own child, listed in the public register of pedophiles. This fact surfaced during the committee’s proceedings.
