Taxi Driver Threatened with Gun by Two Men

On September 13, a 27-year-old Nigerian taxi driver was threatened with a gun by two Belarusian men who demanded he take them to Sopot from Gdańsk.

Incident Details

The incident occurred at around 10:30 PM on September 13. The 27-year-old taxi driver picked up two men from ul. Głębokiej in Gdańsk, who initially asked to be taken to the city center. However, they later demanded he take them to Sopot, and when the driver pointed out that the journey would be more expensive, one of the passengers threatened him with a gun.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The police quickly identified the suspects as two Belarusian men, aged 32 and 40. They were found to be living in Sopot, and a special operation was conducted to apprehend them without risking the safety of bystanders. On September 18, the men were arrested at one of the apartments in Sopot.

During the arrest, the police found and confiscated a pneumatic pistol with pellets.

Charges and Sentencing

The two men were charged with forcing someone to behave in a certain way. This type of crime carries a sentence of up to three years in prison.
