Violent Hailstorms Looming: IMGW Issues Warnings – Secure Your Belongings

A wave of violent thunderstorms is heading over Poland. Residents in vulnerable regions have received alerts from the National Security Center (RCB). Meteo specialists from IMGW also issued warnings. Where will the situation be hardest?

RCB Alert for Lesser Poland about hailstorms

The National Security Center (RCB) sent a warning about hailstorms and strong winds. “Exercise caution and secure belongings that could be lifted by the wind.” The message was sent to people in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, specifically to counties: Bocheński, Brzeski, Dąbrowski, Gorlicki, Limanowski, Myślenicki, Nowosądecki, Nowotarski, Nowy Sącz, Suski, Tarnowski, Tarnów, Tatrzański and Wielicki.

Where is the storm? IMGW issues alerts for several voivodeships

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first‑degree warnings for thunderstorms for the voivodeships of Warmian‑Masurian, Podkarpackie, Podlaskie and Lublin, as well as for certain counties in Pomeranian, Masovian and Lesser Poland. “Forecasted storms, which may be accompanied by heavy rainfall up to 20 mm and wind gusts up to 80 km/h locally hail” — synopticians reported.

Weather on Sunday

IMGW indicated that Sunday will be moderately overcast, except in the north, east and central parts of Poland where dense clouds will bring brief rain. Maximum temperatures will range from 19 to 21 °C along the coast and in parts of Pomerania, about 27 °C in the center, up to 32 °C in the southeast.
