Green Reading Space to Rise on Wileńska Street

A new library and green space, “Biblioteka w ogrodzie,” is set to open in 2026 at Wileńska 55/57 in Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district.

Project Overview

The new facility will combine a traditional reading room with a publicly accessible green area, featuring outdoor reading zones, walking paths, and a cultural events program.

Design and Features

The project involves transforming a currently paved courtyard into a garden with diverse plant life that changes with the seasons. The design includes quiet areas, mood lighting, and benches with literary quotes.

A seasonal artistic terrace and special podiums for art will be part of the project, providing space for local artists and intimate performances.

Community Focus and Programming

The new library aims to serve as an open neighborhood center, offering not only book lending but also meetings, workshops, and social activities.

The branch will be open to children from a nearby kindergarten, as emphasized by Gabriela Szustek, the mayor of Praga-Północ.

Opening and Events

The opening of the new branch is scheduled for 2026, with the site expected to host the Warsaw Revitalization Days in September 2026, featuring debates, workshops, and attractions for residents.
