Targeting Drug Trafficking
Police in Warsaw and surrounding areas conducted a large-scale operation aimed at curbing drug trafficking and protecting school children and youth. The goal was to apprehend individuals involved in the trade of narcotics and psychotropic substances and to confiscate as many drugs as possible before they reached the market.
Operation Details
The operation resulted in the arrest of 217 people, including 96 suspects of drug-related crimes. Of those arrested, 115 were wanted by law enforcement. Police secured over 20 kilograms of various narcotics, including marijuana, amphetamine, hashish, heroin, cocaine, and mefedron.
Focus on School Areas
Police paid particular attention to areas around secondary schools, where young people might be more vulnerable to drug dealers. The operation aimed to reduce the supply of narcotics to the black market by arresting individuals involved in their distribution.
Search and Seizure
Police checked over 1200 locations that could have been used as drug warehouses or for drug trade and controlled almost 800 places where wanted persons might be hiding. They arrested 115 wanted individuals, including 31 sought on arrest warrants, 59 on detention orders, 23 for establishing their place of residence, and 2 on European Arrest Warrants.
