From Dec. 5–8, extensive roadworks will shut the streets of Rosol, Panoramiczna, Ciszewski, and other key arteries in Warsaw, forcing detours, bus reroutes, and major traffic disruptions.
Roadworks on Rosol and Panoramiczne (Dec 5–8)
On the weekend of 5–8 December, asphalt replacement and milling will continue on many city streets, including Rosol. The work on Rosol will resume on 5 December and conclude on 8 December at 5 am. Drivers will be blocked between Panoramiczna and Ciszewski, while city buses will operate on alternate routes.
No Crossing & Detour on Rosol–Rodowicza Anody
On Rosol facing Rodowicza “Anody” the lane opposite Panoramiczna will be closed. The central lane will be fenced off before the intersection, and exits from Panoramiczna and Wesoła will be limited to traffic toward Płaskowicka. The section of Nugat connecting to Rosol will be cut, and from Gandhi the right‑hand two lanes will turn only toward Branicki.
The detour will use Płaskowicka and KEN Avenue to reach Ciszewski. Buses on lines 148, 166, 179, 185, 503 and night N37 will loop on Cynamonowa.
Tramway Construction to Western Station
Construction of the tram line to Western Station has entered a new stage, featuring Warsaw’s first tram tunnel under Park Pięciu Sióstr. The new tunnel and station improvements will connect the station directly to the city centre and southern districts. A new tram junction will be completed at the intersection of Grójecka, Banacha and 1920 Warsaw Battle Avenue.
Recent tests on the new tracks toward Banacha reached the loop by the hospital, and last weekend the tram crew repaired a crossing over the tracks at Pawiński Street, restoring a smooth surface for drivers.
Central Bus and Tram Service Changes
Starting Saturday 6 December, trams will again reach the Banacha loop, which serves the Clinical Hospital and university campus. Line 14 will return to the loop after nine months, and lines 7, 25, 1, 9, 15 will have their routes adjusted accordingly. Bus lines 409, 500, N12, N62 will skip stops on Pawiński and Rondo Starzyńskiego, and night line N34 will use alternate passages.
At Washington Avenue the tram stops will be closed for part of the intersection with Grenadierów; trams will no longer run toward Rondo Wiatraczna, and lines 9 and 24 will be shortened or rerouted to bypass the area.
Roadworks on Starzyńskiego to Rondo Żaba
From 5 December 10 pm to 8 December 4 am, the lane leading from Gdańsk Bridge toward Rondo Starzyńskiego will close. Traffic will be diverted via Starzyński, Namysłowski, Szymanowski to Hallera square or Ratuszowa. At the bridge over Wybrzeże Helskie only a single lane will be open each way.
The second phase begins 9 December at 9 pm, with the left lane toward the Rondo Starzyńskiego viaduct fenced off; drivers can use the right lane to reach the viaduct or Wybrzeże Helskie. Works finish 12 December at 1 am. On 5 December road crews will also return to Odrowąż, completing the section toward Rondo Żaba. No crossing will exist from Budowlana to Staniewicka.
