Polish MP Zbigniew Zembaczyński, who aired a classified document on TV, will be examined by the Security Service following a letter from PiS euro‑MP Jacek Ozdoba demanding his access to sensitive information be revoked.
Publicized Classified Document
During a television program, Zembaczyński held up a file that he admitted was not public. He stated that the document was classified yet claimed he was entitled to view it. The MP urged the party leader and fellow lawmakers to read it, linking his remarks to a request to lift immunity for former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobry.
Ozdoba’s Letter to ABW
Jacek Ozdoba reacted quickly, informing the media that he sent a letter to the chief of the Office for State Protection (ABW). He cited Zembaczyński’s disclosure of classified material on television as grounds to request an immediate halt to the MP’s access to confidential information.
Ozdoba warned that airing such documents could violate the Act on the Protection of Classified Information. He urged the ABW to evaluate the potential breach.
Ziobry Immunity Case
The discourse followed the prosecutor’s request to lift the immunity of former Justice Minister Ziobry, who faces 26 charges, including leading a criminal gang and misappropriating 150 million PLN from the Justice Fund. A parliamentary vote on the matter is set for Friday evening.
