A train operated by Koleje Mazowieckie, number 19994/5 of the Warsaw East–Skierniewice route, struck a pedestrian at 22:20 on Monday, December 15, near Jaktorów in the Grodzisk Mazowiecki county.
Initial Response
Emergency services – fire brigade, medical rescue team and police – were dispatched to the site. Rescuers found a man lying on the tracks with a head injury.
Accident Circumstances
The victim, a man walking along the line, was reportedly intoxicated. The locomotive engineer applied the audible signal; the man sidestepped, fell, and sustained a head injury before the train arrived.
Train and Service Impact
Passengers were warned of possible delays of up to 15 minutes. Platforms and arrival/departure tracks were temporarily altered to accommodate the incident.
