Accountants Face Major Challenges as Poland’s E-Invoicing System Launches

Polish accountants express concerns about significant challenges as the mandatory national e-invoicing system rolls out for large companies.

Mandatory E-Invoicing System Implementation

Poland’s mandatory Krajowy System e-Faktur (KSeF) has come into effect, initially for the largest companies. However, all businesses must now receive invoices issued through this system. Accountants and bookkeepers in both large and smaller companies are questioning how they will adapt to this new requirement.

A key question emerging is whether accountants will need to regularly check KSeF to verify if invoices have arrived, assuming they have the necessary permissions to review them.

Accountants’ Response to KSeF

Piotr Steczyszyn outlined their firm’s approach to handling the new system. On behalf of clients, they will log in to KSeF using a certificate generated for their company. They plan to systematically and automatically download invoices from KSeF to their electronic document flow system.
