Action is recalling Stretch Squad figurines containing trace asbestos, with full refunds offered to customers.
Health Concern
Action has issued an urgent communication regarding the recall of Stretch Squad figurines. “Product may pose a health hazard,” the company stated, adding that the decision was made after trace amounts of asbestos were discovered in the filling of one of the figures.
Affected Products
The recall specifically includes single Stretch Squad figurines (Action item number: 3209338) and 4-packs of Stretch Squad figurines (Action item number: 3202066), sold between April 22, 2024, and February 13, 2026. Multiple EAN codes are associated with these products.
Customer Instructions
Action has appealed to customers who purchased the figurines to stop using them immediately and return the product to the nearest store. “You will receive a full refund even without a proof of purchase,” the company assured. Consumers can also contact Vulcan Consulting in Dublin or call the free hotline at +44 (0)1253 775 645.
Asbestos Explanation
According to the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, asbestos becomes dangerous to health when its fibers are released into the air through damage or deterioration. “The mere presence of asbestos is not a health hazard. It becomes dangerous only when damaged or when products containing asbestos corrode,” the office explained, noting that harmful effects may appear even after several decades.
Additional Recall
Action has also requested the return of exercise gloves (Action item number: 2558553), sold from January 1, 2025, to November 10, 2025. “Tests showed that the neoprene rubber contains approximately 1.1 g/kg WWA, exceeding the limit specified in European regulations,” the company stated.
