Warsaw police have arrested a 29-year-old Otwock County man accused of making multiple hoax bomb threats against a television station via emergency calls on May 18.
Details of the Hoax
Officers from the Capital Police Department’s Counter-Terrorism and Homicide Division apprehended the suspect for allegedly making two false reports to the 112 emergency line regarding a bomb threat at a television station. The suspect has confessed to the act, which is classified as a crime under Article 224a, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code.
During the operation, police seized two mobile phones and a computer from the suspect’s residence.
Investigation and Prosecution
The investigation was a multi-agency effort involving the Capital Police Department’s Cybercrime and Investigative Divisions, working in close cooperation with the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.
Following the arrest, the District Prosecutor filed a motion for a three-month pre-trial detention. The District Court for Warsaw-Mokotów has approved the request.
