Ryszard Terlecki sparked controversy within Poland’s PiS party after calling his colleagues “gówniarzeria” over criticism of Zbigniew Ziobro.
TVN24 Reporter Questions Terlecki About Ziobro
A TVN24 journalist asked Ryszard Terlecki this week if he would “take money from Zbigniew Ziobro for not attending” parliamentary sessions. “If he doesn’t come, that’s too bad,” replied the PiS MP. When the reporter pressed whether the former justice minister’s salary and per diem should be cut, Sebastian Kaleta, former deputy minister of justice and close colleague of Ziobro, interjected: “Perhaps you should not comment on this matter.”
When asked about the situation on Friday, Terlecki told the TVN24 journalist: “Gówniarzeria” (juvenile behavior) and added that he “didn’t really like” his party colleague’s behavior. “But what can you do? Not everyone is well-brought up,” he concluded.
Morawiecki and Jaki Exchange Words
Mateusz Morawiecki responded on X: “To all heated heads who rushed to attack Ryszard Terlecki today: take a breath, gentlemen. The Marshal has enormous experience and a political path that many can only dream of. He said what I often hear from our voters at meetings. Instead of creating a sect aimed at convincing the already convinced, I recommend focusing on conversations with Poles.” The former prime minister in the PiS government stated.
Patryk Jaki responded: “I don’t think our voters expect TVN stunts to attack Ziobro. They’ve already shown Terlecki several times in elections. About taking a breath – wouldn’t it have been better if your closest ally Terlecki had taken this advice today and yesterday and not provoked his own party on TVN? Only PO benefits from this,” wrote the PiS MEP.
Party Divisions Escalate
“It is the MPs of the former Sovereign Poland who are the leaders in reach,” stated the profile of Sovereign Poland, Ziobro’s former party that joined PiS. “It appears to escape you that MP Terlecki has not attacked PiS deputy chairman Zbigniew Ziobro for the first time. It is worth noting: it is the MPs of the former Sovereign Poland who are the leaders in reach online. Millions of viewers are a real force. Not without reason did Donald Tusk choose them as the main target of his political revenge,” the profile responded.
Piotr Müller also commented: “With regret, I observe the process of political division in Law and Justice. (…) Now their action against Ryszard Terlecki. What is even more shocking is the coordinated attack on R. Terlecki carried out by some PiS vice-presidents, who as you can see have not grown into their role, which consists of uniting the environment rather than dividing it,” emphasized the MEP.
The official profile of the Left party also chimed in with these posts. “Don’t argue!” was written with sarcasm.
