Are the United States Losing Poles’ Trust? We Asked About Poland’s Main Ally

Polish readers show growing distrust in the US as main ally following Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s trip that skipped Warsaw.

Rubio’s Trip Sparks Trust Question

On Tuesday, we published an article based on Deutsche Welle material and German press commentary on the trip of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. It described visits to Budapest and Bratyslava and the fact that Warsaw was missing from the itinerary, despite Poland being considered one of the key partners of the United States in the region for years.

Under the article, we asked readers whether Poland should rely on the US as its main ally today.

Poll Shows Growing Polish Doubt

The most votes went to the “No” answer. This option was chosen by 79.53% of people, which is 8725 out of 10,971 voters (result from February 24, 2026). The “Yes” answer was marked by 16.93%, which translated to 1857 votes. The fewest people indicated the “I don’t know” option, which received 3.55%, or 389 votes. Remarkably, a total of 10,971 votes were cast.
