Army Inspects 120 km of Tracks After Sabotage

On Monday, Polish troops announced inspections of roughly 120 km of railway, following sabotage incidents near Garwolin and along the Warsaw‑Lublin line.

Army to Inspect Tracks

General Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz said on 17 November that units under the Ministry of National Defence, including the 2nd Lublin Territorial Defense Brigade and the 25th Light Infantry Battalion from Zamość, are working closely to investigate a sabotage act on the tracks near Garwolin. The army will examine a 120‑kilometre stretch of railway under traction power.

Bombing of Tracks in Masovian Region

Explosions occurred on the Warsaw‑Lublin line near PKP Mika in Życzyna, Garwolin County, Masovian Voivodeship. Prime Minister Donald Tusk called it an attempt to bomb a train. The incident did not result in casualties, but police, CBŚ, prosecutors and railway experts are investigating every detail.

Damaged Traction Line in Lublin Region

Police in the Lublin Voivodeship received reports of windows being blown out, likely due to a damaged traction line. Prime Minister Tusk said the incident is also under investigation, noting attempts to destabilise and destroy railway infrastructure that could have caused a derailment.

Multidisciplinary Investigation

Law enforcement, military, prosecutors and technical experts are coordinating the investigation. Further details are in Katarzyna Rochowicz’s article, “Unprecedented Act of Sabotage.”
