Attempted Murder Suspect Faces Life Imprisonment

A 22-year-old man was placed in three-month pretrial detention on Thursday after being charged with the attempted murder of a 47-year-old in Warsaw.

The Attack and Investigation

During the night of April 28/29, police in Targówek responded to reports of an injured 47-year-old man. After receiving medical assistance, the victim was transported to the hospital, where he provided limited information regarding an acquaintance who had attacked him.

Crime scene investigators secured evidence from the apartment, and the 22-year-old suspect was quickly apprehended at a residence on Wileńska Street in Praga Północ by the capital’s Intelligence and Patrol Department.

Legal Charges and Detention

On Thursday, the suspect was formally charged with attempted murder. Following a motion by the Warsaw-Praga Północ District Prosecutor’s Office, the court granted three months of pretrial detention. Further investigative proceedings are being conducted by the North Praga Investigative Department.

The suspect faces a potential sentence of up to life imprisonment for the crimes of which he is accused.
