A 24-year-old man led police on a chase during which he discarded cash and a phone, later revealed to be wanted for attempted murder.
The Chase
On December 22, 2025, officers in an unmarked vehicle on ulica 1 Maja in Tarczyn flagged down a speeding Ford. When signaled to stop, the 24-year-old driver from Małopolskie province fled, throwing a safe with 80,000 złoty and a mobile phone from the vehicle. He was quickly apprehended.
Discovery of Evidence
Police found a hammer and stolen license plates during a search of the Ford. They also secured the discarded items. The driver possessed valid driving credentials but was actively sought by Warsaw I District Police and Zielonka Police.
Background on Wanted Warrant
The man was wanted for an incident in July 2025 at a luxury hotel in Warsaw. Armed with a knife, he attacked a guest, inflicting two stab wounds that could have been fatal. Warsaw Śródmieście District detectives identified him through operational work.
Legal Consequences
He was charged with attempted murder under Article 13 § 1 of the Penal Code in conjunction with Article 148 § 1, carrying a possible life sentence. The Warsaw Śródmieście – Północ District Court granted a prosecutor’s request for a three-month pre-trial detention.
