Auchan Urges Urgent Return of Frozen Soup Due to Glass Contamination Risk

Polish supermarket chain recalls Hortex frozen soup after discovering potential glass fragments in specific product batch.

Urgent Recall Announcement

Customers with popular frozen soup in their freezers should immediately check product labels. Auchan has published an urgent manufacturer notice requiring return or destruction of a specific batch. Those who purchased the defective item should return it to the sales point where they bought it. The manufacturer emphasizes these strict safety procedures aim to eliminate any risk to consumer health.

Glass Fragments in Hortex Products

The drastic recall decision stems from suspicion of foreign bodies inside packaging. The manufacturer, Polski Ogród Sp. z o.o., identified possible glass fragments, making the product extremely dangerous if consumed. An absolute appeal has been issued not to consume contents from the affected batch. Hortex has officially apologized for the inconvenience, prioritizing customer safety.

Specific Product Details

The recall targets HORTEX Spring Soup, 9-ingredient variety weighing 450 g. To verify if your product is defective, look for batch number S0C1070925 and minimum durability date of March 31, 2027 (03/2027). Despite containing nine carefully selected vegetables, contamination may have occurred in this specific batch, triggering quality control intervention.

Return Process

Though the information originated with Auchan, consumers should remain vigilant regardless of shopping location, as Hortex products are available in nearly every major Polish supermarket. The manufacturer is cooperating closely with distributors to quickly remove the unsafe product from shelves. Customers with the identified products should either dispose of them immediately or return them to store staff for a refund.
