On the evening of December 10, Ostrowski traffic police chased an Audi driver who ignored a stop, was found under the influence, and had mephedrone in the car.
Road Control Attempt
Ostrowie traffic officers monitored speeds on Mazowiecka Street in Komorów and targeted an Audi traveling over 70 km/h. They signaled for the driver to stop, but he ignored the request and accelerated.
High‑Speed Escape and Foot Chase
The driver fled toward Ostrowi Mazowieckiej, abandoned the car on a side street, and continued the escape on foot. Police pursued the foot chase until it ended a few hundred meters later, resulting in his arrest.
Alcohol and Mephedrone Findings
Investigations revealed the 29‑year‑old had no valid driving licence. A breath‑alyser showed 0.28 ‰ alcohol, and the abandoned vehicle contained mephedrone. The suspect was taken to police custody, had blood drawn for drug testing, and the vehicle was seized in secure parking.
Charges and Potential Sentences
He faces charges of refusing to stop for traffic control, possession of narcotics, driving without a licence, driving under the influence, and exceeding speed limits. Prosecutors have indicated a potential sentence of up to five years imprisonment.
