Baltic storm forces cancellation of UnityLine ferries between Poland and Sweden, affecting multiple routes.
Cancelled Ferries on the Baltic Sea
There is a strong storm on the Baltic Sea, which complicates navigation. UnityLine has announced the suspension of ferries between Poland and Sweden. Ferries scheduled for Wednesday, February 4th from Ystad, Trelleborg, and Świnoujście have been cancelled. It is now known that on Thursday, February 5th, two Copernicus ferry trips will not take place – from Świnoujście at 2:00 and from Trelleborg at 15:00.
Unity Line Suspends Booking System
On Monday, Unity Line announced that due to the very difficult storm situation, the booking system operating in Poland has been suspended indefinitely. The communication noted that “trucks will be processed according to the order of drivers reporting to the counter at the ferry terminal.” Vehicles with confirmed reservations for cancelled trips will be transported on other Unity Line ferries. Detailed information can be obtained at the company’s ferry terminal.
Baltic Storm Conditions
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management reported that wind in the Baltic Sea region will reach 5-7 on the Beaufort scale on Wednesday, with gusts up to 8. Light snow may fall in some places. IMGW reported that icing of ships in the Baltic Sea is also possible.
