The Polish Foreign Ministry has called the arrest of a Polish citizen by the Belarusian KGB a “provocation,” according to a statement released by Paweł Wroński, the ministry’s spokesperson. Poland’s embassy in Minsk is taking diplomatic and legal steps to assist the detained Polish individual.

PM Sikorski Responds to Arrest

Polish Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski also commented on the arrest, noting that “we know what this regime is, and we know what to expect from it.” He added that Poland is already in consultations to determine an appropriate response, stating, “I’m confident the issue will not be left without a response.”
