Satellite Images Suggest Missile Deployment
Radio Liberty obtained satellite photos from Planet Labs showing military infrastructure expansion at Belarus’s former Krychev-6 airport. American analysts from Middlebury College had previously identified this location as a potential site for the Russian Oriesznik system. The new material was compared with official footage from Russian and Belarusian defense ministries.
Construction Activity at Former Airfield
The satellite images show a new, fenced complex built on the former runway, with six vehicles resembling Oriesznik transporters. Additional observations include 25 military vehicles of various types, several earthworks, an unidentified building, and structures resembling equipment storage hangars. Construction began at the airport in August 2025.
Zelensky Warns About Belarus’s Role
Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that Belarus is being drawn into war against Ukraine, noting that while the regime has allowed Russian attacks from Belarusian territory, Belarusian citizens haven’t participated directly. He emphasized the risk of Belarusian military involvement and revealed that Russia is already using Belarusian territory to support drone attacks through antenna installations.
