Intensive construction and installation work underway at three new M2 metro stations in Warsaw’s Bemowo district.
Construction Progress at New Stations
Intensive construction and installation work are underway at the three new M2 metro stations: Lazurowa, Chrzanów, and Karolin. Work is progressing simultaneously in tunnels and on station platforms, with passenger elevators and escalators being installed.
On the Bemowo section of Line M2, both track installation and finishing works are advanced. First elements of station equipment are visible, and tunnel sections are undergoing concrete track bed pouring.
Station-Specific Developments
At Karolin station, construction of the final exit (W2) is ongoing, with the subexcavation completed at 80%. This stage is scheduled for completion next week. At station C02, one technical opening has been closed and will be backfilled this week. Pavement work near exits and Rayski Street is in progress.
Station exits are having their steel structures assembled. Finishing elements are increasing in halls and on platforms, including floor laying, wall cladding, and aluminum frame installation.
Technical Infrastructure Work
Masonry, plastering, painting, and tiling work are proceeding in technical zones. Ventilation and electrical installations are being installed concurrently. The first batch of passenger equipment has arrived, including one of ten escalator sets installed.
Elevator and escalator installations continue, with 3 of 4 elevators and 8 of 10 escalator sets now mounted. The most advanced structural works involve the western mezzanine and platform stairs, alongside closing final technical openings.
Project Funding and Timeline
This final segment of Warsaw’s M2 Line includes three stations: C3 Lazurowa (Górczewska/Lazurowa), C2 Chrzanów (Rayskiego/Szeligowska), and C1 Karolin. Underground tracks will be built beyond C1 for the Stacja Techniczno-Postojowa Mory. Completion is targeted for 2026.
