Large-scale reconstruction of Białołęcka Street from Kopijników to Ketlinga is set to begin on May 15, bringing significant traffic changes and bus route diversions to the area.
Traffic and Pedestrian Changes
Reconstruction of Białołęcka Street will commence with traffic changes on Friday, May 15, around 10:00 PM. Drivers will travel in one direction between Kopijników and Przykoszarowa, while the section from Warzelnicza to Ketlinga will be completely closed.
Pedestrians will walk along the construction area, with most sidewalks remaining open and temporary crossings provided where deep excavations occur. These arrangements will remain in place until July 2027.
Bus Service Changes
Starting the evening of May 15 or the morning of May 16, bus lines 104, 204, 234, 314, and N14 will undergo route changes. These changes will remain in effect until the subsequent stages of work are completed.
Project Scope and Infrastructure
The project involves a four-kilometer stretch of Białołęcka Street from Kopijników to Ketlinga, featuring a roadway with one lane in each direction, sidewalks, bike paths, lighting, and drainage. Roundabouts will be built at the Kopijników and Cieślewskich intersections, and a new bus loop will be added at Hemara.
A new road alignment will be established between Stębarska and Kopijników, including a new intersection with Artyleryjska, Łabiszyńska, and Kopijników featuring traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. Construction also includes sewage, heating, and electrical network upgrades, with this phase expected to last until next summer.
Greenery and Sewage Systems
The project includes nearly 300 trees and 7,100 shrubs, as well as ornamental grasses. On the section from Ketlinga to Białołęcka 272, a 1,600-meter sewage system and pumping station will be built.
The 96 million PLN investment is a joint effort by the Capital City Development Board and the Municipal Water and Sewage Company, with Skanska serving as the contractor for works lasting until 2028.
