From December 15, Polish city workers will shut down Leszno street for bike‑path construction, causing detours and altered bus routes across the area.
Construction Overview
Polish city workers are building a new bike path along Solidarności alley. On Monday, Dec. 15, they will close the entrance to Leszno street, forcing motorists to use detours and buses to modify routes.
Roadwork Details and Detours
At 20:00 on Monday, road crews will shut Leszno street from Solidarności alley to Wyszyński square; the pedestrian lane between Żelazna and the square, and the entrance to the square, will also be narrowed. No bike counter‑traffic will be available during the works. The detour network will use Solidarności alley plus Wolska and Młynarska streets. Crews will also work on sidewalks at every corner where Solidarności intersects with Żelazna street; crossing access will be narrower and the entrance to Żelazna toward Nowolipie will be tapered.
Bus Route Changes
Bus lines 171 heading to Chomiczówka and 190 toward Zna?/Osiedles Gorzewska will be rerouted via Solidarności and Młynarska to Gorzewska on Monday evenings. During this period, stops Okopowa 10, Leszno 02 and Młynarska 02 will be closed.
New Bike Path Plan
The new route will connect existing bike lanes on Jana Paweł II alley and on Okopowa and Leszno streets. The section of Solidarności alley toward Okopowa will be rebuilt with two lanes, and parking will move from sidewalks to the roadway. The contractor will also repair the service lane in front of building Solidarności 84, allowing bicycles to use it. Road crews will plant trees, shrubs and perennials as part of the landscaping.
