Blood Transport Vehicle Strikes Road Worker in Warsaw

A serious pedestrian accident occurred on Siekierkowska Route in Warsaw around 8 PM, involving a blood transport vehicle and a cleaning crew worker.

Initial Report of the Incident

Around 8 PM on Siekierkowska Route, near the Mościcki Roundabout in Warsaw’s Praga-Południe district, a serious accident took place. The driver of a Toyota used for blood transport struck a man performing cleaning work on the roadway.

Victim’s Condition and Details

Preliminary findings indicate the injured man was an employee of a cleaning company. He was in the middle of the road when hit by the approaching vehicle, sustaining very serious bodily injuries. He was transported to the hospital unconscious and in critical condition.

Safety Measures and Witness Accounts

Other employees of the cleaning company were unharmed. Their vehicle was parked on the far right lane, and the workers were wearing reflective vests. Witnesses reported the victim was sweeping the edge of the road with a broom shortly before the collision, which occurred on the far left lane.

Driver Status and Traffic Impact

The Toyota driver was not under the influence of alcohol. The overpass towards Ząbki was blocked following the accident, causing significant traffic disruptions. Traffic police from the Road Traffic Department are on scene investigating the exact causes and circumstances of the incident.
