At about 6 p.m. on National Road 92 in Kałuszyn, a 35‑year‑old BMW driver crashed into the rear of a moving Manitou crane, flipping the car while the crane operator tested positive for alcohol.

Collision Details

At approximately 18:00 on National Road 92 near Kałuszyn (Mińsk County), a BMW sedan struck the rear of a moving Manitou crane. The impact caused the passenger car to flip onto its roof.

Driver Condition

The 35‑year‑old BMW driver was transported to a hospital with injuries that, according to preliminary information, are not life‑threatening. He was sober and possessed the necessary driving licence.

Crane Operator Findings

The 23‑year‑old crane operator tested positive for alcohol, with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.27 ‰, indicating impairment. He held the appropriate licence for the vehicle.

Road Closure

Road 92 was completely closed in both directions. Police directed traffic onto detours and urged drivers to exercise caution.

Legal Consequences

Driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level between 0.2 and 0.5 ‰ is a misdemeanor carrying up to 5,000 PLN fine, 30‑day imprisonment, or 90‑day licence suspension. Courts may also impose a 6‑month to 3‑year driving ban.
