Accident Details

Nearly 3 p.m. on Placu Vogla, a BMW crashed into the display window of a toy store in Wilanów. The driver had parked the vehicle, left the engine running, and when she stepped out to answer a phone call, the car rolled forward. She re-entered and pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, driving the vehicle into the storefront and eventually into the shop’s interior.

Damage to Nearby Properties

The impact caused significant interior damage, including harm to the partition wall that separates the toy shop from the adjacent post office. Both businesses remain closed until the structure is secured and inspected.

A single fire brigade squad is on site, securing the area and mitigating hazards. Police noted a long wait time due to other incidents across Warsaw. Traffic to parts of the shopping complex may be temporarily restricted, and drivers and customers are urged to follow officials’ instructions.

Public Safety Notice

No injuries were reported. Authorities advise caution for motorists and shoppers while repairs are undertaken and the damaged premises are cordoned off.
