Slovak rescuers have found a body in the Tatras mountains, likely that of a 30-year-old Polish tourist who disappeared on February 14.
Discovery in the Tatras
Slovak rescuers discovered the body of a man in a gully below Sucha Pass in the Tatras. According to Kamil Suder, an on-duty rescuer with the Tatra Voluntary Rescue Service, the remains are believed to be those of the missing tourist.
The discovery comes after extensive search efforts involving both Polish and Slovak rescue teams.
Identification Process
The body has been transported by helicopter to the exit of the Valley of Silence on the Slovak side of the Tatras. Authorities are working to confirm the deceased’s identity and determine the circumstances of his death.
According to “Gazeta Krakowska”, Slovak police will handle the investigation procedures since the body was found on their territory.
Search Operations
The 30-year-old Polish tourist went missing on February 14 after taking a cable car to Kasprowy Wierch, where surveillance cameras captured his arrival.
Since his disappearance, rescue services from both Poland and Slovakia have been searching the area, including the Valley of Silence and the ridge between Kasprowy Wierch and Świnicka Pass.
