Boiler explosion in Nowa Wieś Królewska destroys house, injures infant and adult, leaves families homeless.
Explosion in Residential Building
Firefighters responded to a boiler explosion in an old, brick, single-story apartment building in Nowa Wieś Królewska. The incident occurred during the night from Sunday to Monday. Six people were in the building at the time of the explosion.
The apartment where the boiler exploded suffered the most damage. External walls lost structural integrity, and partition walls collapsed throughout the building.
Infant Rescued from Rubble
One collapsed wall fell into a neighboring apartment, landing directly on a crib where a three-month-old child was sleeping. Firefighters rescued the infant from under the rubble.
The child was conscious and transported to the hospital for observation. Services reported the infant did not sustain serious injuries.
Adult Hospitalized with Burns
A 42-year-old man who lived in the apartment where the explosion occurred was the most seriously injured. He suffered burns to his hands and a minor head wound.
The man was evacuated by rescue services and hospitalized for treatment. Firefighters confirmed there was no fire in the building, with all damage resulting directly from the explosion.
House Deemed Uninhabitable
Following inspection, authorities determined the building was no longer suitable for habitation. Three families who lived in the structure found temporary shelter with neighbors.
