Bolt has halted all alcohol deliveries between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. throughout Warsaw, extending beyond the municipality’s current ban that applies only to two districts.
Bolt’s Citywide Night‑time Ban
Starting now, Bolt Food disables alcohol sales in its app across the entire city of Warsaw during the hours of 22:00–06:00. The mandate applies every day, covering the citywide area in full.
Municipal Night‑time Ban in Two Districts
Since 1 November, the city’s night‑time ban restricts alcohol sales in Śródmieście and Praga‑Północ between 22:00 and 06:00. Enforcement is carried out by police and the city guard, and violations may lead to revocation of sales licences.
How Bolt Went Further
A Bolt representative explained that the operator “went one step further” by disabling alcohol sales across the whole city, whereas other platforms only dropped deliveries along the boundaries covered by the municipal resolution.
Planned Expansion from 2026
The city council announced that night restrictions will extend to all districts from 1 June 2026, with the draft slated for discussion by the city council in spring. Until then, the current pilot remains limited to the two districts.
What Residents Will Face
In practice, residents cannot order alcoholic beverages through Bolt Food anywhere in Warsaw between 22:00 and 06:00, even outside the restricted districts. Polish online alcohol sales remain legal provided specific conditions are met, but the local hour limits also apply to online sales.
Scope of the Municipal Ban
The municipal ban targets retail sales in shops, gas stations and kiosk stalls within restaurants. It does not prohibit serving alcohol in restaurants, but it bars “take‑away” sales during the restricted hours. Police and the city guard enforce the rule.
