Right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot and killed on-stage at a Utah Valley University event, while the armed assailant remains at large.

The shooting took place during a meeting of Kirk’s “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University. Security footage shows the 31-year-old being shot in the neck while on stage.

Officials from the Utah Governor’s Office reported that two people were initially detained as suspects. Both were later released after questioning.

Charlie Kirk was a prominent figure in the MAGA movement, founded Turning Point USA at age 18, and helped mobilize young voters for Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential campaign.
