Alarm Phones Ring After Tricity Boom
The flights of the fighter jets were so loud that residents massively called emergency numbers, reporting disturbing sounds in their area. As reported by the State Fire Service, the notifications concerned noise, but the callers could not indicate its source.
After checking the situation, no damage or threat to the population was found, and the services did not intervene.
Poland Scrambles Fighter Jets
As reported earlier, the loud sounds were related to takeoffs of fighter jets from the 22nd Tactical Air Base in Malbork. The flights were operational and were a reaction to Russian aviation activity over the Baltic.
For security reasons, however, the military does not provide information regarding the types of aircraft or the exact course of the operation. The Operational Command of the Armed Forces emphasized that the actions were carried out within standard NATO procedures, and Polish airspace was not violated.
