Born on August 26, 1948, in Grabów, Dykiel graduated from the State Higher Theater School in Warsaw in 1971. She began her career on stage, performing at the Student Theater of Satirists (1970-1972) and the National Theater in Warsaw (1972-1985). Her interpretation of Goplana in Juliusz Słowacki’s “Balladyna” became legendary.
Notable Film Roles
Dykiel’s film debut came in “Uciec jak najbliżej.” She gained recognition through roles directed by prominent Polish filmmakers. Her most significant collaborations were with director Andrzej Wajda, in whose films “Wesele” and “Ziemia obiecana” she played memorable roles. She also appeared in “Znachor” as Sonia, Prokop’s daughter-in-law.
Television Career
For television audiences, Dykiel became known through the cult film “Brunet wieczorową porą” and the iconic role of Miećka Aniołowa in the series “Alternatywy 4.” From 2003 until her death, she played Maria Ziębą in the popular soap opera “Na Wspólnej,” making it her longest-running role.

Dykiel received numerous honors throughout her career, including the Bronze Cross of Merit (1979) and the Silver Medal “Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis” (awarded in 2014, presented in 2022). In 2002, she left her handprint on the Promenade of Stars in Międzyzdroje, and in 2025, a star bearing her name was unveiled on Piotrkowska Street in Łódź.
Personal Life
The actress was associated with Ryszard Kirejczyk and had two daughters, Maria and Zofia.
