At a press briefing, Michał Braun announced that Poland’s Osuchowa Foundation, linked to political figure Grzegorz Braun, has been stripped of its entitlement to 1.5 % of national tax funds.
Foundation Loses Tax Funding
Osuchowa Foundation, established in 2015 by Grzegorz Braun, has been deprived of its right to acquire 1.5 % of the tax revenue, a privilege the foundation previously held.
Rationale: Reporting Failure
NIW director Michał Braun explained that the decision followed the foundation’s failure to submit required financial reports. He added that any attempt to obtain the tax share through KRS of another organization will incur a fine.
Activities Allegedly Promote Hate
Braun claimed the foundation’s activities focus on spreading hate, misinformation, and aggression, rather than serving public interest. He asserted that its operations should be subjected to control.
Funds Directed to Braun Campaigns
The foundation’s money was reportedly funneled into Grzegorz Braun’s political campaign, including a series of about 300 film screenings of “Gietrzwałd 1877 – War of Worlds,” and the “Wspólnota Pobudka” program behind “Church‑School‑Range‑Mennonite.” Advertising items such as political fire extinguishers were also distributed. Additionally, funds reached the Polish Veto Foundation, where Braun sits on the board, which supports anti‑vaccination groups.
Audit Ordered
Jan Grabiec, head of the Prime Minister’s Office, confirmed that the foundation lost its tax entitlement for not filing reports on time and has commissioned an audit. He highlighted that the organization used the money for Braun’s political tours and disinformation efforts.
