Major railway breakdown on Berlin-Poznań line causes record delays of over 835 minutes for passengers.
Breakdown Details
Radosław Śledziński from the PKP PLK press team told PAP that the breakdown occurred around 3:20 PM. “We have established a special crisis team. In cooperation with carriers, we are trying to minimize the negative effects of the breakdown. Some long-distance trains will be redirected via circular routes, and for regional ones, replacement bus transportation will be introduced. We recommend monitoring the situation through the passenger portal,” he said. He assured that services are working on-site to remove the breakdown, but it is not yet known when they will succeed.
Poznań Station Delays
On the Passenger Portal, the situation at Poznań station can be viewed. It is not favorable. The worst off are passengers of two Warsaw-Berlin expresses. The one heading to the German capital, which was supposed to leave the Wielkopolska capital station at 3:27 PM, is still there and already has over 480 minutes of delay.
Record-Breaking Delays
The situation is even worse for the train traveling in the opposite direction. The train that was supposed to depart from Berlin after 1 PM and arrive in Warsaw after 7 PM. The display already shows over 800 minutes (13 hours) of delay.
