Mysterious Briefcase Under Overpass in Warsaw
On Wednesday, December 10 after 9:00, Warsaw police received an urgent call about a briefcase left under the overpass at Rondu Starzyńskiego.
Officers from the Independent Counter‑Terrorist Subdivision of the Warsaw Police were dispatched to conduct a pyrotechnic inspection.
Police Response and Safety Assessment
Given the current geopolitical climate and repeated acts of sabotage, uniformed police “react instantly to every report and take measures aimed at preventing danger.”
They closed the area to pedestrians and vehicles during the operation, but the briefcase proved to be empty.
Police Action in Gdynia
At the end of November, a similar incident occurred in a Gdynia shopping mall where a black briefcase was found.
Police patrols and an explosive‑detection dog were dispatched; the area was then secured and closed.
After inspection, the briefcase posed no threat.
Reminder on Abandoned Items
“Any abandoned item will be treated as potentially hazardous. Please take care of your belongings and do not leave them unattended,” wrote the Gdynia City Police Headquarters.
