Police in Garwolin confirmed an incident on May 7, 2024, when a broken rail near Życzyn’s Mika station halted a train at 7:39 a.m., causing only temporary single‑track operation and no injuries.
Police Report of Rail Damage Near Mika Station
According to a statement posted on X by the Radom Voivodeship Police Command, the train driver reported on a phone call in the morning, at 7:39 a.m., a telephone‑verified defect in the railway infrastructure near Życzyn, Powiat Garwoliński, close to PKP Mika station.
Train Halted with Passengers and Crew Onboard
At the time of the incident the train had two passengers and several crew members aboard, none of whom sustained injuries.
Single‑Track Operation Continues
According to PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. spokesperson Rusłana Krzemińska, train movements remain on a single track while work is carried out on the damaged section.
Explosion Rumors Linked to Incident
Local media reports claim that residents heard an explosion on Saturday evening, which some assume is connected to the damaged rail section.

Both police and PKP affirmed that no injuries occurred, and the incident was resolved without harm to passengers or crew.
