Bus Driver Defends Misparked Bus That Stopped Ochota Buses

At about 10:30 on October 28, a bus driver left his Opel on Mołdawskiej Street, blocking route 172 in Ochota, causing service delays until the vehicle was moved at 11:20.

Incident Details

At about 10:30 on 28 October, an Opel bus on Mołdawskiej Street left its rear protruding approximately 0.5 metres onto the roadway between Korotyński and Pruszkowska avenues. The limited space and risk of damaging parked cars forced the driver to halt the city line 172 bus headed for the Sadyba loop.

Traffic Impact

After 11 a.m., another bus joined the stalled vehicle, fully blocking the street. Passengers of line 172 and other motorists on Mołdawskiej experienced delays until the obstruction was cleared.

Response and Resolution

MZA instructors called to the scene first withdrew one bus to clear a section of the road and create a path for the second vehicle. The bus driver returned, deflecting criticism with the remark “I had to park it somehow.” Responders replied that a different spot should have been sought. The vehicle was repositioned, and traffic on Mołdawskiej resumed at about 11:20.

Official Statement

WTP noted the obstruction caused delays for line 172 and suggested that buses toward Sadyba could be rerouted via Mołdawska‑Racławicka, skipping Pruszkowska 01, with possible schedule delays.
