Serious traffic disruptions occurred on Saturday afternoon on the S2 route near Ursus. First, a Mercedes bus caught fire on the lane toward the airport, and a moment later on the opposite lane, there was a collision between a BMW and Renault when drivers slowed down to observe the fire.
Timeline
The incident began at 13:19 on the section between Opacz and Konotop. According to information from the scene, a Mercedes bus caught fire on the lane toward the airport. The fire was quickly brought under control, but the vehicle was completely burned. No one was injured in the incident.
Second Collision
A moment later, disruptions also appeared on the lane toward Konotopy. The BMW driver hit the Renault from behind. One person was examined by the medical rescue team.

Firefighters, police and medics were at the scene. During the services’ operations, the route was blocked in both directions, which quickly led to major traffic disruptions for drivers traveling on the Southern Bypass of Warsaw.

A blockage of the right lane and disruptions were indicated there, which according to estimates may last until 16:30. Traffic is now being gradually restored, but drivers still need to expect slower travel in the Ursus area.
