A serious accident involving two cars and a truck on national road DK62 near Wygoda Smoszewska injured five people and prompted a large emergency response.
Accident Details
Shortly before 5:40 AM, a collision occurred on national road number 62 in the village of Wygoda Smoszewska, Nowy Dwór County, involving two passenger vehicles and a truck.
Five individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Initial Findings
Preliminary investigations suggest that a 42-year-old driver of a Fiat veered into the opposite lane for unknown reasons, colliding with an Opel.
Shortly after, a truck driver struck the rear of the Opel.
Casualties and Sobriety
Five people were injured in the incident – three traveling in the Fiat and two in the Opel. All were taken to a hospital.
The drivers involved in the accident were confirmed to be sober.
Emergency Response
A significant emergency response was dispatched to the scene, including 11 fire department crews, four medical rescue teams, and a crew from the Polish Air Ambulance Service (LPR).
Emergency services secured the area, provided aid to the injured, and worked to clear the wreckage.
Road Closure and Investigation
National road DK62 was completely closed during the rescue operation and subsequent investigation.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances and cause of the accident.
