At about 10:50 a.m., a Citroën was struck by a railbus on an unguarded railway crossing in Kaczorowice, Powiat Płoński, and an LPR helicopter was dispatched to the scene.
Collision Site and Timing
At around 10:50 a.m. on an unmanned railway crossing in Kaczorowice, Powiat Płoński, a Citroën was hit by a railbus traveling from Raciąży toward Płońsk. Both vehicles were moving in the same direction.
Vehicle and Passenger Impact
The railbus hit the car’s right side, causing the Citroën to flip onto its side. The railbus continued for several hundred metres before stopping. Five passengers and two crew members were aboard the railbus at the time of the collision.
Medical Response
The driver of the Citroën was transported to a hospital by the Air Rescue Service.
Investigation in Progress
Police, a specialized investigative team and forensic technicians are still working on the scene. The Plońsk Police Department (KPP) is leading the determination of the sequence and circumstances of the event.
