A serious accident occurred at the intersection of Grochowska and Zamieniecka streets (Szembek Square) on Praga-Południe, involving two cars. After the collision, one vehicle flipped over and crashed into a group of pedestrians waiting at a crosswalk.
As a result of the incident, several pedestrians were injured, with rescue workers performing resuscitation on a 4-year-old child.
Collision Circumstances
Preliminary findings indicate that a Toyota was traveling on Grochowska Street while a Ford was on Zamieniecka Street. According to initial information, the Ford likely failed to yield the right of way, leading to a collision with the second vehicle. After impact, the Toyota flipped over and crashed into pedestrians waiting at the crossing.
Injuries and Medical Response
Four pedestrians were injured in the incident. A 4-year-old child experienced cardiac arrest – paramedics and doctors are fighting for the child’s life, performing resuscitation. Four pedestrians, including the child, were taken to the hospital, while both drivers are under the care of medical rescue teams.
Emergency Services at Scene
Four medical rescue teams, the Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe helicopter (Ratownik 12), five fire brigades, as well as operational groups from the city and the Voivodeship Headquarters of the State Fire Service are present at the scene. The intersection has been completely blocked during the rescue operation and service activities. 16 bus lines have been redirected.
